Plataform

Hello everyone, good morning. Today's blog is something different, and it's about TestGorilla, a platform for doing activities and tests to practice and exercise English in a more fluent way. With my partner Eliu, we had to share headphones for the listening part, which personally was the one I liked the most. They were actually quite simple. I liked the platform for being able to practice English whenever I want. I struggled a bit with some grammar exercises, but with studying, improvement is possible. The multiple-choice activities also gave me some trouble, but my friend Eliu was helping me out. The writing activity was longer in my opinion; I find it a bit challenging to expand my ideas when writing in English, but I managed. The speaking part was entertaining. Well, thanks to this platform, it's ideal for final exams.  See you!

Hello, everyone, on a new Wednesday blog. Today, I'll talk to you about someone on social media whose content I admire. More specifically, the content I watch the most is on YouTube, where I first discovered her. She's a girl who is a tattoo artist and lives in NYC. I remember watching her first video during the pandemic lockdown when I didn't know what else to do. I recall seeing a video of her showing what she did during the day, and watching her was very relaxing. That's why I liked her content. Besides, her style is very charming, and she has a beautiful decoration in her apartment. I've been following her for about three years now since I found her on YouTube. [Insert YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vh-sHms7hO8] Apart from the lovely color scheme in her videos, it's genuinely relaxing to watch them. I highly recommend her; besides being enjoyable, her content is motivating for personal projects or wanting to make a change in your environment....

Something i’m enjoy

Imagen
Hello everyone, sorry for the delay haha, but I was a bit busy during the day. Well, today we'll talk about something I really enjoy doing outdoors. I must say I quite like the idea of leaving home and doing anything, like going for a coffee in a nice place, checking out thrift stores, or taking a walk to clear my mind. I also really enjoy kickboxing. I've been practicing it for about 7 years, and it's always a pleasure. It's amazing how a stressed mind from university can unwind by practicing this sport haha. Initially, I practiced kickboxing about 15 minutes from my home at a martial arts sports center, but I changed locations because I didn't feel entirely comfortable. I tried other places until I found one I liked. This place is literally around the corner from my house, a new sports center, and it was incredible news that kickboxing was going to be offered steps away from my home. So, I had no excuses not to get up and go right away. I really like this sport be...

Torres del Paine

Imagen
Hello everyone on this blog. Today I will tell you about Torres Del Paine, a magical and beautiful place. I went to the towers in 2021, in August if I remember correctly. A bit of historical context, they are located at the southernmost tip of Chile, in the Region of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica. It was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978 and is considered the most important national park in Chile. Its main attractions lie in the spectacular nature of its terrain, mountains, glaciers, lakes, and the flora and fauna that make it an ideal site for ecotourism and adventure sports. When I went, there were three of us: my father, my older brother, and myself. It was a trip of literal connection and disconnection. Since I was a child, we have been taking these trips to the extremes of the north or south, and this was definitely one of the most attractive and beautiful ones. I fell in love with its flora and fauna; everything was beautiful, and I felt like I was breathing...

Valle Del Elqui

Imagen
Hello everyone, good morning. Today I want to tell you about a trip I took in Chile, a trip I've been making since I was a child, to the Elqui Valley in the Coquimbo region. This place makes me feel very safe, and I've been visiting it since I was 4 years old. We always stay in the same cabins owned by friends of my dad. This place stands out for its magnetism and complete disconnection from the world. It's also where various rituals and nature worship take place. It has many rivers, and where we stayed, we could open the windows and enjoy the sunny view, especially in the summer when the hills were right in front of us. It's beautiful. We would sometimes go down to the river, which had very cold water. My dad and I would go jogging, but I would get tired quickly because of the scorching heat there. After jogging, we would always jump into the river to cool off. The valley has hidden spots and places to have a lovely afternoon camping and having a picnic. The valley ha...

My brother Sebastián

Hello everyone, today is a very cold and cloudy Sunday. I hope you are all doing well. Today, I'll talk about something closer to my heart, a family member I love dearly. I have three brothers, and I love them unconditionally. If I had to choose who to talk about today, I'll talk about my oldest brother, Sebastián, who is nearly 30 years old. Seba is someone with whom I share an incredible bond. We have different parents, but my dad gave him his last name, so he's practically my little brother. I'm very proud of who he has become. Seba was always a very kind and talented graffiti artist. He loved outdoor activities like biking and climbing, and we often competed in our love for climbing. As he grew older, Seba studied expedition engineering in ecotourism at the university, I believe that's the name of his degree, but that's basically Seba for you. He went to the mountains, climbed, cycled—everything related to the outdoors. After university, Seba landed beautif...

A lenguage

Hello everyone, good morning. Today, once again, it's a Wednesday blog post, and I will talk to you about my journey in learning the English language. Well, my initial exposure to this language was in my school, as we had English as a subject from a young age. The truth is that I found it quite easy to understand and practice. I had this subject from 1st grade to 12th grade. Then, in 7th grade, we were divided into two levels of English: advanced and intermediate. I always, and I mean always, stayed in the intermediate level haha. I couldn't seem to move up because I was quite disorganized in class, so sometimes I didn't understand what we were doing. But in high school, I became more serious about it. We had written tests, oral presentations, quizzes, and more. Besides, I got along well with my English teachers over the years, so I enjoyed it. Outside of the classroom, currently, I sometimes converse with my boyfriend in English, and he is quite knowledgeable, so he helps...

A book

Imagen
Hello everyone, how are you? Today, I want to talk about a book I've read. Honestly, I'm not much of a reader, but back in school, they used to make me read, so I'll tell you what I remember about "The Little Prince," haha, it's quite typical. "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is a timeless work that enchants both young and old alike. This captivating fable tells the story of a pilot who crashes in the desert and encounters a little prince from another planet. As the plot unfolds, the book reveals profound reflections on life, love, friendship, and human nature. The true beauty of "The Little Prince" lies in its simplicity and endearing characters. The prince is an innocent and curious being who asks insightful questions about the world around him. Through his adventures on different planets and encounters with unique characters, the book imparts valuable lessons about empathy and understanding. Saint-Exupéry employs a poetic...

All Time Favourites

Hello everyone on this Wednesday once again on the blog. Today will be a day of recommendations, rating, and telling you about the most captivating things in my opinion, such as movies, songs, magazines, etc. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. 1. Ponyo: Japanese animation by Hayao Miyazaki about the magical friendship between a boy, a mermaid, and a world that opposes them. Directed by Hayao Miyazaki. I love this movie for its animation, the artwork is incredible, and especially the sweetness of the main character. I identify a lot with it. [Link to video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YpxyQit8fk) 2. Blue Lights - Colors Show: I love watching this video of singer Jorja Smith performing this song on Colors Show, a company that ensures artists sound amazing with these minimalist videos. [Link to video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYwRsJAPfec&list=RDfYwRsJAPfec&start_radio=1) 3. Funny kitten videos: I love watching all kinds of animal or funny cat videos; they bright...

September 18 !

Hello everyone on this new, once again cloudy and cold day. The patriotic holidays have come to an end :( very sad!! But we enjoyed them like never before. 1. Cooking: With my family, we cooked traditional food almost every day to our liking, and it was great. We ate a lot and were very happy with the results. We usually prepared dishes for the family during lunchtime. Obviously, we needed more than a few hands because there was quite a bit of food, and we were five people, but we had an incredible time, eating empanadas like crazy and having a great time. 2. Sleeping: I love to sleep, and I would give anything for it right now. Besides that week of rest, I rested a lot. Last week, most days, I stayed at home, doing nothing but pampering myself with my pets and watching Netflix. I slept approximately 9 hours a day and even took a nap, so quite a few hours, haha. 3. Seeing my friends: It's quite challenging for my group of friends from outside the university to get together because...

Today I read GALIO

Imagen
Hello everyone, good morning. Today, the day is very cold and rainy, so what better way to start than with a cup of coffee and this blog. I will talk to you about a digital magazine from a publishing house called Galio, which I've been reading recently. Galio is a digital magazine of Chilean origin that covers various areas but is primarily focused on the culture of fashion and the creative industry in Latin America and the world. Personally, I quite like it because as someone who is always looking for references and inspiration, it's easy to find as I can see it on my social media or through Safari. It began in 2013 with the opening of this magazine, initially focusing solely on fashion, and then gradually introducing other areas such as editorials, photo sessions, editorial tests, music, culture, art, among others. Over the course of these nine years, Galio.cl has received contributions from artists from Chile, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, France...

A festival

Hello everyone on this new day of the blog. Today I will talk to you about a concert that, in that year, was one of my favorite artists. It's about Bad Bunny's concert, which had two opportunities that year, on October 28th and 29th, 2022. I attended on the second date, which happened to coincide with my birthday, so it was an incredibly amazing experience. I was accompanied by my older brother, who is three years older than me, and we shared that liking for our favorite artist. We were also with his friends from university, so we were a large group. We bought tickets for the general admission area, and since I was short, I could hardly see anything because we were way at the back. But well, at this concert, I remember being full of adrenaline. I was very anxious for it to start because we had arrived very early so that we wouldn't be too far away. Unfortunately, it was crowded around lunchtime, and the concert started around 9 in the evening, I believe. When it was about t...

An interesting trip

Imagen
Hello everyone on this new rainy day. In this post, I will tell you about a beautiful trip I took in the summer of 2023. I went to Europe for the first time with my boyfriend. We first arrived in Barcelona and stayed at his aunt and uncle's house. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect; it truly felt like another world. We spent several days exploring almost all of Barcelona, a city full of joy and excitement on every corner. It amazed me how interested people were in fashion here. It was beautiful how people's personalities were reflected through their clothing. There was a street called Paseo de Gracia where all the luxury stores like Prada, Chanel, Cartier, etc. were located, and well-dressed people casually strolled with their shopping bags – something we don't see in Chile due to the risk of theft. We visited many cultural monuments and architectural wonders, like Gaudí's creations. His works are stunning and heavily inspired by organic and natural for...

Hello English 4 !

Hello everyone, my name is Romina Homel, but you can call me Romi. I'm a design student in my second year. I haven't decided yet whether to specialize in industrial, graphic, or integrated design. I'm passionate about everything related to fashion. Outside of university, I focus on styling for various occasions such as photoshoots and editorials. I have little time left to decide my specialization, but whoever chooses that I want to combine it with fashion. Speaking about my personal life, I live with my mother and my brother. I have a total of 3 siblings, and one of them lives with my father. I attended a school near my home where I formed wonderful friendships. Coming to this university, I've met some really lovely people whom I adore. I have 2 dogs and a cat, their names are Alemdra, Miel and Chumi. They are very adorable and affectionate, at 3 I adopted them and I do not regret anything.                       ...

Canva

Imagen
Hello everyone!! Today I am going to talk about the favorite website for the design career, Canva. Canva offers a collection of 8,000 free templates for 100 design types with multiple purposes. It also allows you to create your own designs from scratch by adding images, other elements, and text. To do this, it uses an interface where you simply have to move the elements from the menu to the composition using the mouse. This website is incredible as it offers a variety of templates and a huge color palette, allowing you to tailor your preferences in a presentation. You can also create flyers, covers, programs, and invitations, as well as brochures, calendars, schedules, email headers, and social media posts, among many other things. Additionally, this website also allows you to purchase printing services to have what you've designed delivered to you. Therefore, in addition to design, it also offers stationery services. How it works: 1. Registration: First, you need to create an acco...

The Poke Bowl

Imagen
Hello everyone in this new blog, today I will tell you about my favorite food lately. First, let me give you some context about poke bowls. Poke means 'to cut' in Hawaiian and refers to square pieces of marinated raw fish, usually tuna, which are then placed on top of rice and complemented with vegetables and sauces. This dish originates from Hawaii and is typical there. Many people say it is very exotic but also delicious.  To make a poke bowl, we need to start with our preferred base, which could be rice, quinoa, or another grain. Then we add the protein on top of this base, in my case, I prefer tuna, which is cut into small pieces. Next, we move on to the rest of the ingredients, which are the vegetables. In my case, I add avocado, cucumber, carrot, and scallions. Then we can optionally add some tropical fruit like pineapple. Finally, we sprinkle toasted sesame seeds as toppings. Once our bowl is ready, we add ceviche or soy sauce as dressing.  I love this dish becaus...

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. Today we will talk about the most interesting technological piece in my opinion. It would be about the famous Alexa. Alexa is the name of the virtual assistant created by Amazon, and you can interact with it through the brand's Echo smart speakers, which are always connected to the Internet. You can also use Alexa on compatible televisions and mobile phones that have the Amazon app installed. Order almost anything online. You can accomplish multiple tasks with the help of this intelligence. To connect Alexa to a WiFi network, you have to connect the device where you have the virtual assistant. Once you connect the device, the assistant will use that connection to access the Internet whenever needed, and you don't need to do anything else. Alexa works through voice commands. You have to say its name to activate it, followed by the question you want to ask. Then, Alexa will give you the answer, whether it's providing information...
